A system for maintainance of utility poles, using fused IMPEL rods (outside EU)
The idea of “The Pillartreat System” is, to replenish with a fungicide, to compensate the pole for loss of original fungicide! Initial impregnation of poles will, as times goes by, be gradually leached out of the pole, especially in the groundline zone, leaving it vulnerable for fungi attack.
Our experience, through 50 years of pole inspection, has taught us, that this will happen, which makes it necessary to reimpregnate the pole in the groundline zone.
The Pillartreat System:

Pillartreat is a system developed to insert solid water diffusible IMPEL rods with precision, using a patented drill guide. No matter what size pole, piling or post, IMPEL rods can be inserted at the most advantageous position. – See the picture to the right:
Water sucked up through the end of the pole, will pass by the inserted IMPEL rods, dissolving some boron-salts (boric acid). The water will now bring the boric acid around in the wood, and will, little by little, cover the entire cross section including the unimpregnated latewood.

After a few months it will cover, and thereby protect a zone from 40 cm below groundline to 20 cm over the groundline, which is exactly the vulnerable zone concerning fungi attack. Scientific institutions all over the world have tested the efficacy of the Pillartreat System, and beside, has practical use for more than 10 years, confirmed the scientific tests. An added advantage to the system is, that it has made it possible to reimpregnate poles, setin pavement or concrete, which has not been possible before without big expenses to break up the hard pavement material.Further documentation can be required! krsis@krsis.dk
